What are a few things we would find on your desk?
A messy pile of papers all relating to different subjects.Notes on revisions, shopping lists and sketches of costumes I'm planning to make for my future book covers are all mixed up together.

What motivates you to write?
I have a very strong creative drive. If I'm not writing, I'm sewing, or making silver jewellery or taking photographs. Writing is a fantastic outlet for all the ideas clamouring for attention inside my head.

Share something about yourself no one else knows?

I constantly doubt my abilities.

What was your favorite scene to write?
The scene where Jack and Florence ride to the neighbour's farm on his horse. I love scenes where there is tension between the characters. The dialogue is snappy and I can inject humour while foreshadowing things to come.
Tell us about your book…

The Moral Compass is a coming of age story. Florence is basically a spoilt brat. She lives in a beautiful home in an exclusive part of London and has everything her own way. She bases her ideas about love on romance novels and sees herself as a heroine in one of the stories. But circumstances pull the rug out from under her and she's forced to grow up fast.Florence comes to the realisation that there is more to life than money and status and that fancy clothes and a posh accent do not make a man a gentleman. It is the first book in the Shaking the Tree Series.

The Moral Compass (Shaking the Tree Book 1)

Florence lives like a Princess attending dinner parties and balls away from the gritty reality, filth and poverty of Victorian London.
However, her world comes crashing around her when her father suffers a spectacular fall from grace. She must abandon her life of luxury, leave behind the man she loves and sail to the far side of the world where compromise and suffering beyond anything she can imagine await her.
When she is offered the opportunity to regain some of what she has lost, she takes it, but soon discovers that not everything is as it seems. The choice she has made has a high price attached and she must live with the heart-breaking consequences of her decision.

This novel is part one in the 'Shaking the Tree' series.
