1. What are a few things we would find in or on your desk?

Cats.  Lots of cats.  Each one with their own position and piece of real estate.  I have five cats, you see and would have more if I wasn't kept on such a short leash.  Connor, Murphy, Satan, Gomez and Hudson.  There is always a free mobi copy of a book for the person who can tell me who the two kittens are named for<pictured>

2. What motivates you to write?

Imaginary friends who never stop talking to me, even when I am asleep.  They tell me their stories and ask me to write them down.

3. Share something about yourself no one else knows?

I was asked to leave Nursery School when I was under five years old because the other kids thought the fact I spoke to these "invisible friends" was too weird.  Don't remember the stories from the school, but I still talk to the friends.

4. Tell us about your book....

Magic Man is a thriller where a serial killer is driving a detective over the edge.  The woman who comes to him telling tales of her life stolen, makes his life more miserable. Until she is able to piece the two together and realizes their stories are the same, being played out from different directions. The need each other to find the answer.

Detective Peter Mackenzie knew crime and knew his job. With The Cemetery Man schedule to leave the next body on the next grave Peter doesn’t have time for the puzzling Alexandra Madison. Her wild stories of a stolen life and family and friends who don’t remember her. Her last resort, she tells him is him and the relationship they shared.

Peter doesn’t need this nonsense and his eccentric father walking in only irritates him more. Until his father utters the name everyone forgot, giving hope to Alexandra for the first time.

Time is their enemy as the weekend grows closer and on Sunday, Peter knows another body will be waiting.
What he doesn’t know, what he couldn’t know, even with Alexandra delving deeper into his father’s past, the victims are not random. They are chosen with reason and the monster who takes them is not done.

She is coming for one of them.

    1. Okay fine. Her real name is Quincy Morris. She was my daughter's cat ... who went aboard for a year then came home to move to Hawaii for three years. Guess who got the cat? Satan is lovable on *her* terms, but she did earn the nickname rather quickly and a few of us have scars. We still love her and she's into getting under the blankets to sleep with us at night. Just ... don't roll over.

  7. Five cats??? Wow, do they "allow" you any room at all to sleep in "their" bed? We only have two (very spoiled) cats, and they sure take up a lot of space when they want to sprawl. And like a couple idiots, my hubby and I don't want to disturb them, so we fit ourselves around them as best we can... and are oh-so-careful when we get up, so we don't wake them. Too funny. Especially considering they have no problem jumping all over us and licking our faces in the middle of the night. :)

  8. Love it! My folks took me to the doctor because of my invisible friends - their conclusion was I had an overly active imagination! Still makes me smile :)

  10. "Cats. Lots of cats." HAHA! I have four cats and they love my desk too! :D

I love stories about detectives and serial killers, especially if there's romance in it. ;)
