Amy Ruttan on the web:
Over to Amy now...
I
love San Francisco.
So
when I was asked to write my second medical in a big city, it was a no brainer
to choose San Francisco.
I
was lucky enough to the visit the city in 2008 for the Romance Writers America
conference. I was just newly published with Ellora’s Cave and I knew even
though I was published, I had a lot more to learn especially if I wanted to
achieve my dream of writing for Harlequin.
Writing
for Harlequin has always been a dream of mine and I was grateful to finally
realize that dream in 2012.
Anyways,
I digress, I love San Francisco.
The
climate, the food, the views; so many beautiful places.
The
only thing I didn’t like was the hills! I come from a relatively flat place,
and those hills. WOW they are steep to walk up.
The
setting just came so naturally to me when I was writing Melting the Ice Queen’s
Heart.
Usually
a lot of settings, I have to do a lot of research because I haven’t been there.
I haven’t done a whole lot of traveling and I don’t mind the research. For San
Francisco I just had to access my photo album and the old travel guides I
picked up.
I’m
slowly traveling more places and building up a repertoire of settings. At least
that’s the excuse I give to the DH when I suggest we go somewhere, but if I
can’t get somewhere I’m very happy doing research.
So
what’s your favorite city?
But Amy is exciting! She writes exciting heros and feisty but strong heroines. Just look at
Amy's latest release MELTING THE ICE QUEEN'S HEART and there's a Kindle gift copy for one commenter.

It started with a kiss…
Having left his humanitarian posting in Africa to raise his two orphaned nieces in San Francisco, Dr. Gavin Brice has enough on his plate without an inconvenient attraction to his new boss! The frosty Dr. Virginia Potter clearly disapproves of his maverick ways - but with one amazing kiss, the ice begins to thaw….

Oh, what a grand setting! San Francisco is on my bucket list. The book sounds great!
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco is awesome! I highly recommend it, Shelly. :)
ReplyDeleteI went to San Francisco for the first time last year. Loved it. Perfect setting for a novel. Hard for me to pick a favorite city. I love NYC, Paris, Boston--my home city. Good luck with your book, Amy!
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco is on my list of places I want to go.
ReplyDeleteI love this cover! So pretty.
I adore Frisco! I grew up about an hour away and spent a lot of time there throughout my life. I hate that I'm no longer close--mainly because it means I only see my favorite haunts once a year now. It's an amazing city!
ReplyDeleteEven though I've never been there, I trust that San Fran would be a favorite, judging by my hubby's love for the area. (He went there on numerous business trips.) But it would have to be added to a whole list of other "favorite" cities. I tend to fall in love with just about every place we go.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds terrific. I'm a real sucker for books with a medical connection.
I visited San Francisco once and I loved it too. I'd love to return one day.
ReplyDeleteI have a few fave cities. It's hard to choose one.
ReplyDeleteI love to live in Austin. Love to visit Rio de Janeiro. Love to go to Paris to pack some extra pounds. Love NYC because it's such a vibrant, cultural city.
I lived in CA for a year and I visited SF many times, Lovely place! :)
San Francisco is a very interesting city. My family and I visited for a couple of days. I liked how the fog rolled in and out. Maybe some day we'll go back.
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco is on my list. I love NYC, New Orleans, and San Antonio - where I live today.
ReplyDeleteI love San Francisco. It is one of my favorite cities. So many beautiful sights to see and so unique. The weather only adds to the amazing feeling I get when I am there- since the weather changes and makes each place look and feel different.
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet Amy. Wishing her the best of luck! :)
