We invited Adelaide based author K. E. Osborn. Over to her for now...
My name is Kimberly Osborn. I am 29 years old and live in Adelaide, South Australia. I live with Bella my Moodle (Maltese x Poodle), four green tree frogs, and Edward and Alice the Zebra Finches (yes, the name’s are from Twilight). I studied a Diploma in Advertising and Graphic Design at TAFE, and have a small graphic and website design business - which is lucky because I am able to design my own book covers. I love going to dog shows, and show dog training with my Auntie Wendy’s Akitas. My main past times would be reading and listing to music. I love Australian Rules football (AFL), and my team is the Adelaide Crows. Go Crows! I also love a good drama and believe it or not (but don’t tell anyone) I love watching a good soap opera, and trashy reality TV.
My inspiration to become a writer came in high school. I loved writing, but decided on a career in Graphic Design instead. It wasn’t until I had a vivid dream about a couple meeting through a three car pile up, that I felt like I had to write this story down. Next thing I know the idea has turned into a Trilogy. My dream was in October 2012, and I set myself down and started writing solidly until the Trilogy was on paper. It wasn’t until my mum, found the work and started reading it, that I realized I wanted to publish it. I sent the initial draft to my friends, and they all loved it, and encouraged me to continue. I have since written other books (to be released), and they have also come from dreams. I have a pen and paper on my bedside table ready, in case I wake up from a dream with an idea for another book.
My chosen genre came from the fact that I love reading contemporary romance books. Some of my favourites inspired me to become a full time writer. They include Fifty Shades of Grey and Twilight. I also enjoy books by S.C. Stephens, K. M. Golland, Tina Reber and Emma Chase.
I wrote this story as there are a lot of women out there with some pretty major trust issues, including me. There are parts of the book, which are actually based on my experiences, especially with a controlling and dominant ex partner. I think its good to talk about trust issues and bring them to the surface, so woman can discuss them. There is no real way to get over your trust issues other than to face them head on, and basically that’s what happens in the story Trust Me? Jeni, the female lead character has to face the fact that she loves Aiden, the male lead character, but she is unsure if she actually trusts him. Its hard enough to find love, but trust is another issue entirely.
The title of the book Trust Me? The Trust Me? Trilogy is based on the trust issues that Jeni faces in the book. The title came from the fact that she was facing her demons and one of those was trust.
I hope you all enjoy reading Trust Me? The Trust Me? Trilogy, as much as I enjoyed writing it. I would love to hear from you, please drop by my facebook page and leave a message and feel free to leave an honest review on Amazon, Smashwords and Goodreads. My contact details are below:

ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to meet you too :0)
My Moodle, Bella is very cute, she looks like a Maltese, but has a wavy, almost curly coat, like a Poodle. I think she is adorable, but then again I am bias lol.
I hope you enjoy my book :0)
Much Love,
Kimberly xoxo

I love how you came about writing the book. Sometimes a book demands to be written. I've been influenced by dreams before.
ReplyDeleteHi Medeia,
DeleteYes I was surprised when I had the dream and it just wouldn't leave my mind, so it's like you said, Trust Me? just demanded to be written. I hope you enjoy the book.
Much love,
Kimberly xoxo
