What inspires you to write?

I am inspired to write by life and all its ups and downs. There are stories everywhere if you have a creative mindset. I am inspired by the strength and healing power of love, which is why I love writing romance. Love and emotional growth is the heartbeat of romance.

What is your favorite genre and why?

I like to read romance but not always when I’m in the middle of writing a book. I read a lot of nonfiction these days, especially psychology and books on parenting. There is so much still to learn about life and who we are as people and why we are the way we are. And the good news is- just like in a romance novel- we, like the characters, are capable of change.

Share a bit about your writing process.

My writing process has undergone a change over the last 15 or so books. I do a lot more fleshing out and planning before I start. I sketch in key scenes or events that need to take place but I still mostly let the creative magic happen as I write. I don’t like being hemmed in too tightly but I also like a light scaffold to point me in the right direction.

Tell us about your book...

Forbidden Until Their Snowbound Night is a book about an idealistic virgin who has a checklist for her perfect partner, and a cynical and traumatically damaged playboy hero who has no intention of ever falling in love. I guess you can guess what happens, but this was a particularly difficult book to write due to Drake’s past. I hope you enjoy how I  handled such a difficult background and cheer for him as he finds healing in Aerin’s love.

Forbidden Until Their Snowbound Night (Weddings Worth Billions Book 3)

His forbidden touch…
…is what the innocent wants!

Drake Cawthorn is speechless when Aerin Drysdale begs him to accompany her to a glamorous event in Scotland. Aerin is his best friend’s sister and looking for the type of love Drake doesn’t believe exists, so she’s
strictly
off-limits! But he doesn’t want anybody else coming to her rescue!

Aerin knows cynical playboy Drake can’t be her Mr. Right. But she can’t ignore how he sets her pulse racing. And when a snowstorm leaves them stranded, the balance is finally tipped. Aerin’s next request? A sexual awakening for as long as the snow lasts…

  5. Nothing wrong with letting the process grow as one publishes more books. Best not to get stagnant ;)

    1. Hi Liz, I totally agree. Stagnating as a writer is not great for a long term career. But it is a challenge to stay fresh and do new twists on the major story tropes but I love a challenge! Thanks for posting.
