What are a few things we would find on your desk?

A couple research books to my left I rely on, the cup from Paris my husband surprised me with at the Louvre to my right. Has pencils and things.  A photo of my husband and I at the Golden Heart Ceremony, 2009.  And a cat.  Probably two.  Very likely with one in the folding chair behind me. I have alot of cats.

What motivates you to write?

I am responsible for these peoples's lives.  They come to me and tell me their stories and I am the one they trust to pass those stories on.

Share something about yourself no one else knows?

I don't eat anything that had a mother, I don't drink Coca Cola and I never watch Tom Cruise movies.

What was your favorite scene to write?

Last scene of Bystander.  Sean's Mom comes into the room and not only owns him, she owns the story and the scene and I love her.

Tell us about your book…

Illegal Exit is about two men, cousins, who lost everything they ever loved. They trusted the system until the system failed them and then they took matters into their own hands.  Illegal Exit begins where the story of Hannah Parker, the detective who never should have cared, cared way too much and changed Trevor and Gavin's lives.

  3. There's almost always a cat or two on my desk while I'm writing, too.

Gee, in a world where most gals seem to think Tom Cruise is a hunk, it's surprising to hear from someone who never watches his movies. (Don't like nutsos, eh?)

This new book sounds terrific. Good luck with it!

  4. I can picture your desk now. And the cats, what can I say? My cats sometimes like to sit in my lap while I'm typing. Enjoyed the interview. Best of luck with your new book.

  6. I never drink Coke, either. Or anything with carbonation, for that matter.

    1. I don't mind Sprite. But I was a six Coke a day addict and I went cold turkey almost 20 years ago.

  9. My husband won't watch Tom Cruise movies either. They don't bother me much. Your book sounds intriguing. She saves him. I like that.
