How to resist the charms of an Irishman

Whitney K-E shares all she knows on dealing with the Irish charm…

If there’s one thing my heroine, Kate Barrow, wish she knew it’s exactly what she was in for when she met my hero, Jack O’Reilly. So, in order to prepare you all for the release of my novel, What Happens in Ireland and the charms of Mr Tall-Dark-and-Handsome himself, I thought I might share a few tips on how to protect your hearts against the Irish charm. Or rather, fill you in on what to expect on your first encounter with Mr O’Reilly.

Now, there’s a song called ‘When Irish Eyes are Smiling’ and a couple of pictures that I have encourage, that sum up exactly what you can expect. J

So let’s start, shall we?

“When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, sure 'tis like a morn in spring.”

Rule No.1: Never underestimate the effects of those emerald eyes. In the space of a heartbeat they’ll have you.

“In the lilt of Irish laughter you can hear the angels sing,”

Rule No.2: The Irish have a great sense of humor, and their laugh is lethal. Beware the deep, husky chuckle…

“When Irish hearts are happy, all the world seems bright and gay,

And When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, sure, they steal your heart away.”

Rule No.3: The Irish have been through a lot of hardship as a country and yet they still stand. So the lesson is, the Irish aren’t deterred easily. So be ready for them to accept the challenge of your stealing your heart.

“For your smile is a part of the love in your heart,

And it makes even sunshine more bright.”

Rule No.4: Those cheeky half grins and seductive smile are weapons of mass seduction. Find yourself bathing in the light of too many of them and you’re going to find yourself in an Irishman’s arms. You won’t know up from down. J

So there you have it! Four rules to help you resist the charms of an Irishman. If you think you have these rules down pat, why not test your strength and meet the infamous Jack O’Reilly?

Today, I’ll be giving away an e-copy of my novel, What Happens in Ireland to one lucky commenter! And each commenter also goes in the draw to win one of two of my What Happens in Ireland blog tour giveaway prize packs including a copy of my ebook, a ribbon book mark made by Swagmaster designs and a coffee mug with my cover on it? Please make sure you state your email address and I’ll get in contact with you. Whitney’s Novel:

Ever wondered what happens in Ireland?

When Australian, Kate Barrow, meets a handsome Irishman in a Dublin bar, she has no idea that he’s about to turn her world upside-down and inside-out.

In Ireland to take on a position on a thoroughbred stud, Kate is shocked when her manager-in-co reveals himself to be the same man she’d met in Dublin.

Jack is drawn to Kate. The problem is, she won't have him. But Jack has always loved a challenge and the intriguing woman from Oz is one he cannot resist.

Harbouring the sting of another man’s betrayal, Kate is certain she wants nothing to do with love and nothing to do with Jack O’Reilly. But when naked torsos, Mother Nature and dysfunctional umbrellas start plotting against her resolve, she realizes the charms of an Irishman are going to be hard to resist.

  2. Perfect song. Perfect explanation Whitney!

Okay I'm going to wear sunglasses from here on in when in the presence of any tall dark and handsome Irish man. Can't have those smiling Irish eyes unleashing their full destruction and turning a girl to goo you know.

    Smiles,

  6. Now this is a book I can relate to. I'm half Irish and one thing I love about the Irish is their sense of humor. Hence I've got a big crush on Pierce Brosnan. So this books sound right up my alley.

  10. Well, this is one Irish woman who resisted the charms of the Irishman. My husband is an Indian. But yes, I know that many ladies find the lure of Celtic men too hard to resist. Well, Irish men love to flirt so if you're ready to play that game and better still, beat him at it, you're in with a chance. And I would love to read this book.
