Cherie Reich, The Nightmare Collection Giveaways!

We have Cherie Reich under the spotlight and she's doing some giveaways!

Nas: Who is Cherie Reich?

Cherie: Cherie Reich is a writer, freelance editor, book blogger, and library assistant living in Virginia.

Nas: What do you think makes a good story?
Cherie: Engaging characters with a fast-paced plot that grips the reader and doesn’t let go.

Nas: Anywhere you haven’t travelled you would like to go?

Cherie: Is everywhere a good answer? I would particularly love to visit Europe.

Nas: What one item do you always pack when you travel?

Cherie: My Kindle Fire HD. Can’t leave home without it.

Nas: What inspired you to be a writer?

Cherie: Although I spent a few years roleplaying and writing fan fiction with the occasional short story or two, I never really thought I would be a writer. But I had so many ideas for novels and with my new at the time job, I realized I had time to write, so I did. In the end, I didn’t want to keep all these great characters and stories to myself.

Nas: How did you choose your genre?

Cherie: Well, I still can’t decide on just one genre. I have too many stories and characters in my head, and they don’t all fit in one genre, so I write their stories based on the genre they are in, whether it is fantasy, horror, science fiction, romance, etc.

Nas: What made you tell this story and why did you write this book?

Cherie: The Nightmare Collection started with the novelette Once Upon a December Nightmare, which was loosely based on a real event that happened to my friends and me. We had quite the adventure when our truck broke down on an old mountain road, the cell phones didn’t work, and we had to hike to the main road to find help. Our adventure ended much happier than the characters in my novelette, but the story stayed with me and was a great horror story, so in May 2009, I decided to write it down. Eventually, I wanted to explore the monster’s origins, thus the short story “Nightmare at the Freak Show” was invented. Then, a reviewer wanted more from Once Upon a December Nightmare, and in the end, I gave in and wrote the novella Nightmare Ever After, which takes place almost ten years after Once Upon a December Nightmare.

Nas: How did you come up with the title?

Cherie: Since each story has “nightmare” in its title and it is a collection, The Nightmare Collection fit the book.

Nas: Tell us a little about your current release …

Cherie: A legend is hungry tonight.

A child monster will get its first taste of blood in Nightmare at the Freak Show. Four friend will enter the forest on December night, but only one can survive in Once Upon a December Nightmare. Almost ten years after Cassie's December nightmare, the monster awakens to hunt again in Nightmare Ever After.

  9. I love old Hammer horror movies, especially the ones set in ancient Egypt. They're deliciously creepy. Now having said that, I have to add that I haven't seen one in years, but let the kids grow up.....
