Feature on Jenny Lynch & Paw Prints of Love

This week our Feature on Author is on Jenny Lynch. She has a new story out "Catching Curls" in the anthology by Gumnut Press "Paw Prints of Love".

Jenny Lynch has been a member of Gosnells Writers Circle since 2016. She has published flash fiction, rhymes and reviews in GWC’s Showcase magazines and has published two short stories in their 2017 anthology, Kaleidoscope as well as one in their 2019 anthology, Pencilled Down.
Jenny has also self-published 11 children’s books and 1 adult book, all of which are written in rhymed verse and are sold online through her Pink Ribbon Books website. These books are all sold as fundraising books and all profit after printing costs is donated to the Breast Cancer Research Centre of W.A.
In 2016, Jenny very proudly won the Manjimup Bluegrass Festival song lyric competition, with her humorous song, Cranky Crocodile. The song was performed by the Davidson Brothers and can be viewed on YouTube.
Jenny has a great sense of humour and loves writing quirky rhymes. She has written and printed quite a few personalized books and cards for family members and friends for special occasions.

You can find Jenny at the following links:

1.      What was something you loved doing in recent times?
Never believe that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks…..I recently enrolled in an online COPYWRITING course and although I’m only half way through it, I’ve learned so much already! I love learning new things.

2.      What are the most important magazines for writers to subscribe to?
My favourite is Writer’s Digest…..either the printed version or even reading it online. There is so much help and guidance as well as superb articles to read.

3.      What’s your favourite under-appreciated novel?
Without a doubt, it would be SHANTARAM by Gregory David Roberts. It’s one of my favourite books. It’s big, it’s bold and it is utterly unique! This book is a spiritual journey into life - almost a meditative experience. It’s a book everyone should read.

Tell us about your book...

When the call for submissions to the Paw Prints of Love anthology was made, I really loved the fact that the setting was a Western Australian seaside town. The first images that flooded into my mind were of course: sun, sand and surf. And what better romantic figure is there in such a setting, than a famous, sexy, champion Australian Pro Surfer? I chose Abbey to be the protagonist in my story and of course, she falls head-over-heels with said Pro Surfer.

“Catching Curls” is a story about helping others, and in doing so, finding love when you least expect it.
